The Thrive Approach

We are delighted to be able to offer provision in school that supports pupils to succeed in all aspects of their learning from boosters in phonics, mathematics and PiXL learning therapies to supporting children’s emotional learning and success through the Thrive Approach.

The Thrive Approach combines neuroscience and child development to provide a powerful way of working with children and young people that supports optimal social and emotional development.

In addition, the Thrive approach works a targeted way with children and young people who may have struggled with difficult life events to help them re-engage with life and learning.

We are pleased to now have five trained Thrive practitioners who support pupils across the school and additionally offer a bespoke curriculum in our recently established Swan Class.

Sharing Parenting

We are fortunate to be able to offer the services of a Family Support Practitioner, Louise Orton, who is based in school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Louise is available to speak to families on a one-to-one basis and offers courses in parenting for families and wellbeing for pupils.

If you would like to know more please speak to Louise via the school office or talk to your child’s class teacher.

Forest School

Pupils in Year 2 are offered sessions of Forest School run by Mrs Clasper. These sessions promote independence, resilience and seek to build children’s confidence and connection with their natural environment.

This is done through activities such as wood craft, art, play, team building and challenges. We are always looking for parent helpers, even if you don’t have a child in Year 2. Please speak to Mrs Clasper if you would like to get involved.
