British Science Week 2026

British Science Week 2026 had the inspiring theme: “Curiosity: What’s Your Question?” This theme encouraged our pupils to take the lead in exploring and finding answers to the big questions they have about the world around them.

On Tuesday 10th March, we were delighted to welcome Jennifer Burlingham from the Norfolk and Suffolk Nature Recovery Partnership. Jennifer led an engaging assembly, sharing how science plays a vital role in her work. She then spent the morning working closely with our Year 3 children, deepening their understanding of species and habitats.

Years 4, 5, and 6 took part in exciting STEM sessions featuring coding stations, mini robots, microscopes and sling rockets. Whilst our Year 2 pupils explored the fascinating concepts of sinking and floating and chromatography was used to solve the case of the missing biscuits. A great hands on week was had by all at Westfield!
