19th December 2025

Today, we held our highly anticipated Learning Influencer raffle, celebrating the achievements of pupils who have climbed to the top of our learning ladder this term. Pupils who earn Learning Influencer letters are recognised for their outstanding effort and progress.

This term, the three pupils with the most Learning Influencer letters—Ellamae, Michael, and Arthur—were awarded book vouchers as special prizes. With over 600 Learning Influencer letters awarded across the school, 25 lucky winners were drawn in a lively celebration assembly.

It was a wonderful way to recognise and celebrate the hard work and dedication of so many pupils this term. Well done to everyone involved!

Today, we celebrated the pupils who have truly stood out this term. Each teacher presented awards in English, Maths, and the wider curriculum, along with a special Headteacher’s Award.

It was wonderful to welcome parents to share in the celebrations and see the pride classmates showed for their friends’ achievements. A huge well done to everyone who received an award—you should be very proud of your hard work and dedication!

Our Christmas Disco was a fantastic success! To ensure every child could join in the fun, we hosted three separate discos, each filled with festive music and great energy, thanks to Mr Palazon on the decks.

A wonderful time was had by all—including the staff! It was a joyful way to celebrate the season together.

Our Westfield choir brought festive cheer to two care homes in Haverhill with wonderful performances that truly captured the Christmas spirit. The children sang beautifully and took time to engage warmly with the residents after their performances.

They represented Westfield with pride and kindness, making the visits a memorable and heartwarming experience for all involved.

16th December 2025

We had the pleasure of two wonderful performances at St Mary’s Church. In the morning, our Year 3 and 4 pupils took to the stage, followed by our Year 5 and 6 children in the afternoon.

The children performed a variety of songs as classes, year groups, and key stages, alongside many confident pupils who delivered readings to a full church of proud parents and family members. Everyone did brilliantly, and it was a joy to share their talents in such a special setting.

A heartfelt thank you to all the families who came to support and celebrate with us.

Our wonderful nursery children delighted parents with a heartfelt performance of Christmas songs, including the use of Makaton. They sang confidently and beautifully, filling the room with festive joy.

The pride was palpable, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house as we all celebrated their amazing accomplishments.

On Monday, the delicious aroma of Christmas lunch filled the whole school as we served over 400 festive meals. With crackers, Christmas hats, and cheerful holiday music, the atmosphere was truly magical and full of festive spirit.

A huge thank you to our wonderful cooks and lunchtime staff whose hard work and dedication made this special whole-school event possible. Thanks also to all the staff for their support in creating such a joyful celebration for everyone.

On Thursday, the whole school came together to wear their Christmas jumpers in support of the Save the Children foundation. The school was filled with festive colours and holiday spirit, creating a joyful and Christmassy atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.

9th and 10th December 2025

This week, our EYFS and Key Stage 1 teams took to the stage with confidence and joy in their Nativity play and Christmas performances. The children delighted their large audiences with wonderful singing, acting, and festive spirit.

A heartfelt thank you to all the parents and family members who came to support and celebrate with us. Your presence made the events even more special!

5th December 2025

On Friday 5th December, we held our much-loved annual Christmas Fayre, enjoying fantastic support from our local community. In just 1.5 hours, we raised over £1300 to support our school.

The event featured a wide variety of stalls, thoughtfully organised by school staff, Year 6 pupils, and members of the local community. Our School Choir kicked off the festivities with a wonderful performance, filling the hall with festive cheer and putting everyone in the Christmas spirit.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this event such a success!

Our Year 1 pupils had a memorable morning visiting St Mary’s Church in Haverhill town centre for a special Christmas Experience. The children immersed themselves in the festive atmosphere and returned to school filled with joyful Christmas spirit.

We had s magical afternoon at the Haverhill Christmas Carnival.

A huge shout out to Somma, Ololade, Maya, Lola, Illinca, Mayra, Emilia, Franki, Pixie, Spencer, Neerav, Chimdalu, Kevin, Kovu, Marshall, Aronas, Emma, Emmanuel, Ateeyah, Udhra, Nelly, Naela, Ryder, Savannah, Jeffrey, Hunter, Ervin, Landon, Abigail, Davis, Nathan, Oskar, Kumba and Clodagh. It was a long and very chilly afternoon but they are all demonstrated the Westfield promise throughout. We are very proud of you!

A massive thank you as well to all all our fantastic families who stayed , helped and supported us. It was lovely spending the afternoon with you and we even had two former Westfield pupils join our parade, Emily and Mia-Rose.

It was wonderful seeing so many familiar faces along the High Street. What a fantastic afternoon – thank you for being amazing!

We’re excited to share that, thanks to your kindness and generosity, our school collected 57.8kg of food during our Harvest Festival celebrations! All donations have now been delivered to the Reach Community Project to support local families.

A huge thank you to everyone for your wonderful support and for helping make a real difference in our community.

On Tuesday afternoon, the school was buzzing with delicious aromas as we hosted an after-school cooking session for some of our Westfield Primary Academy families!

Thanks to Abbeycroft Leisure and funding from West Suffolk Council who funded this fun event. As a bonus, everyone went home with a big food box to create 5 family meals, along with some tasty recipe cards to try out at home! What a fantastic experience for everyone involved!

We’re delighted to share that the Kitchen’s Poppy Competition has now been completed, and our winner and runner-up have been chosen!

We’d also like to congratulate all the children who took part. The kitchen staff were incredibly impressed with the creativity and effort shown in every entry.

We participated in various activities for Children in need., including Joe Wicks’ exercises and the ’25’ challenge engaging our pupils in fun and active ways to support this important cause.

Westfield community came together to honour Remembrance Day. At 11 o’clock, our children joined in a two-minute silence to show their respect and gratitude for all those who have served and sacrificed — the brave men, women, and animals who gave so much during times of war. We were incredibly proud of how thoughtful, respectful and reflective our pupils were during this important moment of remembrance.

This week is Anti-Bullying Week and the theme is The Power of Good!

This morning, we launched the week with an assembly focused on kindness. Our pupils will be celebrating the power of kindness by supporting and encouraging each other throughout the week.

We’re excited to announce that special certificates will be awarded to pupils who demonstrate outstanding kindness. Already today, 4 kindness certificates have been handed out—what a wonderful start!

We’ve also connected our kindness focus to our Westfield Promise, reinforcing the values we hold as a community.

We can’t wait to see how many certificates will be awarded by the end of the week! Let’s keep spreading the power of good together.

Dear Westfield Community,

As we come to the end of a busy and successful half term, I wanted to take a moment to thank you warmly for all your support. It has been wonderful to see our pupils making great progress and enjoying their learning experiences, both in and out of the classroom.

Your involvement really makes a difference, and together we are helping to create a positive and inspiring environment where every child can thrive. We appreciate the effort you put into supporting learning at home and engaging with the school.

Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable two-week half term break. We look forward to welcoming you all back refreshed and ready for the exciting learning ahead on Monday 10th November.

Today our children had an amazing time taking part in African drumming sessions — a wonderful way to enrich their learning and explore rhythm, culture and creativity. It was fantastic to see so many smiles and so much energy throughout the day!
